What to Expect When You Visit

Please be assured that attending the Morehead church of Christ will not be a scary adventure. Yes, people will welcome you, shake your hand, and introduce themselves, but we will not embarrass you in any way.

If you choose to attend a worship service on Sunday morning or Sunday evening, you will find that we participate in several forms of worship during the hour. You are invited to participate in any or all of them as you feel comfortable.
  • Singing - Our singing is a capella (without instruments). A leader will announce and lead songs from our songbooks. We blend our voices as we praise and worship our God, knowing that our music is pleasing to His ears.
  • Praying - Public prayers will be led during the typical service. These prayers are led by men from the congregation and are from their hearts.
  • Lord's Supper (communion) - We take the unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine each Sunday as we remember the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior.  We offer communion on Sunday evenings for any who missed services that morning.
  • Giving - We happily give back from the abundance that God has given us so that His work on earth can continue through this church and through others. Our gifts support not only the local church but also mission efforts throughout the world. As a visitor, you are not expected to give money.
  • Teaching/Preaching - There is a Bible study class at 10AM; you will not be singled out or asked any questions, but will feel free to listen and read along with the lesson. Classes are offered for different age groups of children (just ask someone and they'll get you to the right class!). The sermon is from God’s word, and typically starts around 11:30AM and goes until noon.
In addition, you may observe persons responding at the end of the sermon for baptism or for prayer.
